The Federal Government has recently decided to retain the three solar projects of PV each of 50 MW in the category II instead of the category III and this position is clarified by Sindh Government informed by the official sources.
Power Division on 8th February, 2021, announced that CCoE, the Cabinet Committee on Energy has decided the following that all the projects that have already been issued the LoIs and also have been granted the determination of their tariff by Nepra and also issued a generation license would surely be allowed to even proceed ahead towards their achievement of requisite milestone according to the 2006, RE Policy.
Further the Power Division informed that the notifications of the gazette for 3 x 50 MW PV solar power projects of the Private Meridian Energy, Limited- MEPL, HNDS Energy- Private, Limited- HNDSEPL and the Helios Power Private Ltd. are detained by the Power Division as these new projects are placed under the category II and in category III as per the list that was presented before and also approved by the CCOE on the 27 February, 2019.
This Power Division may also allow proceeding ahead with a notification of generation tariffs in an official gazette. The CCoE also approved this proposal of the Power Division because last week it was already ratified by the Cabinet.
