Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, visited the flood-hit areas of Kasur and Jahanian Pirwala to review the ongoing relief operations and evaluate the extent of damage caused by the recent floods, according to a statement released by ISPR.
During his visit, the Army Chief stressed the urgent need for strong coordination between civil authorities and the military to deal with disasters more effectively. He highlighted that better governance, timely planning, and rapid infrastructure development are essential to protect communities from facing similar devastation in the future.
Field Marshal Munir personally met with the families who had been displaced by the floods. He listened to their concerns and reassured them of the Army’s continued support in their rehabilitation and recovery.
His interaction with the evacuees reflected the Army’s focus on providing both immediate relief and long-term assistance to help restore normalcy in the affected areas.
The Army Chief also took time to commend the tireless efforts of Pakistan Army troops, Rescue 1122 teams, and the police force.
He praised their courage and dedication in carrying out relief operations under extremely challenging conditions, ensuring that affected people received timely help.
As part of his visit, Field Marshal Munir conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions to get a broader picture of the damage and the scale of relief required.
He reiterated that the Pakistan Army remains committed to public welfare and disaster response, standing shoulder to shoulder with the people during difficult times.
