Meezan Bank has introduced a major innovation in Pakistan’s banking and travel landscape by becoming the first bank in the country to launch the Visa Global eSIM. This service is now available exclusively to Meezan’s Visa Infinite Debit Cardholders and is aimed at enhancing convenience and digital connectivity for international travelers.

The Visa Global eSIM is a digital alternative to traditional SIM cards, offering users the ability to activate mobile data services on their devices without needing to purchase or insert a physical SIM. This allows travelers to stay connected in over 150 countries with ease, eliminating the hassle of buying local SIM cards or relying on unsecured public Wi-Fi networks.

With support from Visa’s global infrastructure and compatibility across a wide range of modern smartphones, this eSIM solution provides a seamless experience for users who want secure, reliable internet access abroad. Cardholders can switch between mobile carriers and activate international data plans directly through their devices.

Under this new offering, eligible Meezan Bank customers will receive up to 3GB of free high-speed data for 21 days, along with a 25% discount on additional data top-ups. This benefit is built into the Visa Infinite Debit Card and marks a significant shift toward lifestyle-focused banking in Pakistan.

The launch also reflects Visa’s response to growing international data needs. With global mobile data usage increasing more than sevenfold since 2018, there is a rising demand for solutions that keep users connected wherever they go.
