Fitness Certificate Now Mandatory for Motorcycles After Cars

The Punjab government has decided to make roads safer by extending the vehicle fitness certificate rule to include motorcycles as well. Just like private cars, bikes in Punjab will now need to pass a technical check to get a one-year fitness certificate.

This new policy was approved by the Punjab Cabinet, which has made legal changes to put the rule in place. The Transport Department is now working on the plan to make sure this new rule is carried out properly across the province.

The purpose of the fitness certificate is to make sure that motorcycles, like cars, stay in good condition and do not pose a risk to other road users. Many people use bikes daily, so keeping them roadworthy is very important for everyone’s safety.

At the same time, the Punjab government is also cracking down on the illegal use of LPG in public transport vehicles. Using unauthorized LPG cylinders can be very dangerous, so authorities are taking serious steps to stop this practice.

Special inspection teams have been formed to check major bus terminals and stations. These teams are also keeping a close eye on workshops that make or fit unsafe LPG cylinders. Officials from the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) are playing an active role in these operations to make sure the rules are followed and public safety is protected.

Through these actions, the Punjab government aims to reduce road accidents, improve vehicle safety, and keep passengers safe from illegal fuel setups.
