Five Pakistani Migrants Drown in Libya Boat Tragedy

Five young men — Mazhar Hussain, Atif, Haroon, Hamza, and Jafar left Pakistan around four months ago, hoping to find better job opportunities abroad.

Like many others, they dreamed of building a better future for themselves and their families. To make this journey possible, they reportedly sold their savings and even livestock to arrange the required money.

According to their families, each of them paid between Rs. 4.5 million and Rs. 5 million to travel agents who promised to take them to Europe.

Their planned route included traveling through Saudi Arabia and Libya, with Italy as their final destination. This route is often used by migrants, even though it is considered dangerous and risky.

Sadly, their journey ended in tragedy. While traveling by boat near Libya, the vessel capsized due to rough sea conditions. All five men lost their lives in the accident. The incident has left their families and communities in deep grief and shock.

However, there was one survivor among their group. A companion named Imran Sher managed to survive after boarding another boat. Reports suggest that he has safely reached Italy.

The deceased belonged to different villages in Hafizabad, including Bagh Kehna, Kot Nizam, Tahli Goraya, Behak Muqeemuddin, and Chohdu Khunian. Their deaths have deeply affected these communities, where people are mourning the loss of young lives.

This tragic incident highlights the dangers of illegal migration routes and the risks people take in search of better opportunities abroad.
