When a traveller made the shocking discovery that paper plates were being used at the facility, the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi garnered headlines for all the wrong reasons on Wednesday. In a widely shared video, a traveller explained how condom packaging material was utilised to make the paper plates that were supplied to guests at the establishment.
While praising the food’s excellence, the traveller expressed shock that the plates sold to both domestic and foreign travellers had been made from contraceptive-related materials with clear-cut descriptions. Border Health Services acted quickly to seal the food counters of the company in charge of the poor management as the video circulated on social media.
Dr. Murtaza Shah, the director of Border Health Services, stated that the action was carried out in accordance with the province health minister’s instructions; the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) airport manager has also been accused of acting carelessly in this matter.
On the other hand, the company’s food counters at the domestic and international terminals have been sealed, and a punishment has been levied, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The identical plates were being used to serve both domestic and foreign travellers for days prior to someone posting a video that prompted CAA to act, according to sources with knowledge of the developments.
