The era of the 200-megapixel camera is on the brink of change, as the potential for 320 and 440-megapixel cameras to feature in smartphones looms near.
According to Android Authority, a South Korean firm is actively developing a 440-megapixel HU1 sensor alongside a 320-megapixel camera sensor. Although the report doesn’t specify if the 440-megapixel camera will be integrated into smartphones, the company had previously expressed its goal of introducing camera sensors mimicking the resolution of the human eye.
However, the 320-megapixel camera is anticipated to be integrated into smartphones capable of capturing a 80-MP image, within the next two years. Recently, mobile phone processors capable of supporting the 320-megapixel camera have been developed.
It seems evident that after the era of 200-megapixel cameras, the 320-megapixel camera will be the pioneering feature in smartphones.
