Shabbar Zaidi, the former head of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), believes Pakistan has gone bankrupt, and that the government’s claim that the economy is functioning well is false.
He came to that conclusion during his broad-ranging address at Hamdard University the other day.
“We keep stating that everything is OK, that the country is functioning smoothly, that we have had great success, and that we have introduced tabdeeli (change), but this is incorrect. The country is currently bankrupt and not a going concern, in my opinion.
