Fully Funded Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Pakistani Students

Pakistani students can now apply for the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Exchange Students to study in South Korea. Offered by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), this fully funded program supports international students participating in exchange programs at Korean universities. The scholarship aims to promote academic and cultural exchange, strengthen global cooperation in higher education and provide international exposure to students.

Eligibility and Academic Fields

The GKS Exchange Program is available for both undergraduate and graduate non-degree exchange students. Students from all academic fields offered by the host Korean university can apply. The program typically lasts one semester, or about four months.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected students will receive:

  • A monthly living stipend of 630,000 KRW (paid at the end of each month)
  • Round-trip airfare to Korea (maximum amount set by NIIED)
  • Additional support as per NIIED regulations

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be officially accepted as exchange students by a Korean partner university
  • Be nominated by their home university
  • Meet academic requirements of both home and host institutions
  • Maintain good physical and mental health
  • Agree to follow NIIED guidelines during the exchange
  • Note: Korean citizens or dual nationals with Korea are generally not eligible

Application Process

  • Apply through the home university’s exchange program
  • Submit required documents to the host Korean university
  • Host university recommends students to NIIED
  • NIIED announces the final list of scholarship recipients

Application Deadlines

  • December for Spring semester intake
  • June for Fall semester intake

This scholarship provides Pakistani students with a fully funded opportunity to study abroad, experience Korean culture and gain valuable international academic exposure.
