A strange scene at Gadani Jetty has caught everyone’s attention, the seawater has turned pink, leaving fishermen, tourists, and nearby residents puzzled and uneasy.
Experts from the Balochistan Environmental Protection Department say this unusual color is the result of pollution mixing with natural changes in the water.
Deputy Director of Environment Imran Kakar explained that stagnant water inside the jetty provided a perfect place for tiny organisms to grow in large numbers, changing the water’s color and causing a strong smell to spread in the area.
According to officials, this sudden bloom of microscopic life, combined with waste and pollutants, led to the pink shade. People have now been told to stay away from the jetty waters until the situation improves.
Teams are testing water samples and keeping an eye on the site to make sure the problem does not get worse. Locals are hoping that proper steps will be taken soon to clean up the water so that Gadani Jetty remains safe and attractive for visitors and fishermen alike.
