Pakistan and Bahrain have agreed to increase their trade to $1 billion within the next three years. This important announcement was made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his official visit to Manama, the capital of Bahrain.
During his visit, PM Shehbaz held meetings with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The leaders discussed various ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The Prime Minister highlighted several important sectors where both nations can work together. These include information technology, food security, construction projects, renewable energy, and improving port connections for better shipping and trade.
Both countries also talked about defense cooperation and cybersecurity, which are becoming increasingly important in today’s world. They also exchanged views on regional developments, including the situation in Gaza.
In recognition of the strong friendship between Pakistan and Bahrain, PM Shehbaz Sharif received Bahrain’s highest civilian honor, the Order of Bahrain (First Class). This award demonstrates Bahrain’s respect and appreciation for Pakistan.
The two nations reaffirmed their commitment to increasing bilateral trade and strengthening security cooperation. They also emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections, which help build stronger ties between the citizens of both countries.
This visit marks an important step forward in Pakistan-Bahrain relations and opens new opportunities for economic growth and partnership across multiple sectors, benefiting both nations.
