Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has increased meter rentals drastically, dealing another blow to the already struggling population.
A gas meter’s monthly fee has recently increased from Rs 40 to Rs 500, and as a result of new regulations, users are now required to pay a minimum of Rs 500 each month, even if they do not use gas.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) decision, according to media reports referring to the spokesperson for the nation’s sole gas supplier, has been imposed amid a severe financial crisis. However, the decision will not apply to customers with gas bills less than 0.9 cubic hectare in November and December.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a significant increase of almost 124 percent in February of this year for certain categories of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines and Sui Southern Gas Company users.
