Ghilaf-e-Kaaba (Kiswa) Changed to Mark Hijri Year 1445

As the new Islamic year, 1445, begins, Saudi Arabia is getting ready for an important tradition of changing the drapery (called the kiswa) of the Kaaba. The General Presidency of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, along with the King Abdul Aziz Complex for Holy Kaaba Kiswa, have confirmed that they are well-prepared for this significant task.

The process involves ten detailed stages done with great care by skilled experts from the country. Fifteen employees have received special training to make sure they can complete the task skillfully and on time.

This process includes various steps like desalination, dyeing, weaving, embroidery, and assembling the kiswa. It is a sacred duty that shows respect and honor for the Kaaba, which is a symbol of holiness in Islam.
