Gold prices in Pakistan reached a six-month peak on Monday, hitting Rs237,600 per tola, as global bullion prices soared to unprecedented levels.
According to data from the All Pakistan Saraf Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold surged by Rs2,800 per tola, reaching its highest point in the past half-year.
Additionally, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs2,401 to Rs203,704, while the price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose to Rs186,728.
The rise in gold prices is linked to the strengthening of the US dollar, underscoring the correlation between currency values and gold prices.
Internationally, gold prices climbed by $24 to reach a record high of $2,278 per ounce.
