Solar energy is becoming more affordable in Pakistan as prices of solar systems have seen a major decline, offering households and small businesses a chance to invest in clean energy at lower costs.
The drop in solar prices comes as electricity demand decreases during the winter season. Experts say this is a good time for consumers to consider switching to solar power before the summer months, when electricity bills typically rise.
Currently, 5kW solar systems are available for around Rs. 550,000, including all necessary panels, inverters, and accessories. A 7kW system, which can easily power two 1.5-ton air conditioners, a refrigerator, fans, lights, and a washing machine, is priced at Rs. 625,000.
For larger homes or small businesses, 10kW and 15kW setups are now offered at Rs. 900,000 and Rs. 1.3 million, respectively, allowing multiple heavy appliances to run smoothly.
With the cost of solar installations becoming more reasonable, experts believe more households and businesses will adopt solar energy, reducing electricity expenses and promoting cleaner energy solutions across the country.
This is being hailed as one of the best times in recent years for Pakistanis to invest in solar technology, making green energy more accessible than ever.
