Students, parents, and teachers across Punjab can look forward to a winter break as the provincial education authorities have officially announced holidays for the cold season.
The decision applies to all educational institutions throughout the province, covering both government and private sector schools.
According to the notification issued by the education department, schools will close for winter vacations starting from December 22. During this period, classrooms will remain shut to ensure students’ safety and comfort amid the colder weather conditions.
The break will continue until January 11, giving students ample time to rest, spend time with family, and prepare for the upcoming academic term. Since January 11 falls on a Sunday, it will remain a regular weekly holiday. As per the schedule, all schools across Punjab will resume academic activities on January 12.
Education officials stated that the decision was taken keeping seasonal conditions in mind and to maintain consistency across the province. The same schedule will be followed by public and private institutions to avoid confusion for parents and students.
School administrations have been advised to inform students about reopening dates and ensure smooth resumption of classes after the holidays. Parents are encouraged to help children revise lessons lightly during the break so they can return to school refreshed and prepared.
The announcement has been welcomed by students, who now have a clear schedule to plan their winter break.
