For Pakistanis hoping to perform Hajj in 2026 under the private scheme, there is encouraging news. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the start of the application process, offering thousands of new opportunities for pilgrims.
This year, the private Hajj quota has been set at 60,000. Out of this, more than 22,000 seats will go to those who registered last year but could not travel, while the remaining nearly 38,000 seats will be open to new applicants.
Private operators have been instructed to give priority to the pending pilgrims before accommodating fresh applications.
According to officials, the system is designed to ensure fairness and transparency. Private Hajj operators will be required to provide an undertaking that last year’s applicants are served first. Only then will new applicants be offered the chance to register.
This measure has been welcomed as it prevents repeat disappointment for those who had already completed the process last year.
The Ministry further explained that the new framework will make the process more organized, with proper monitoring in place. By streamlining allocations, they aim to provide a smoother experience for the thousands of families preparing for this sacred journey.
For many, this announcement brings a sense of relief and renewed hope. The opportunity to apply under the private scheme is not just about securing a seat, but about fulfilling a lifelong spiritual dream. With the launch of the scheme, aspiring pilgrims now have a clear path to begin their journey toward Hajj 2026.
