Good News for Those Waiting for Passport Delivery

People in Pakistan who have been waiting a long time for their passports can finally expect faster service. The Directorate General of Passports has shared an exciting update that promises to make passport printing quicker and smoother than ever before.

Mustafa Jamal Kazi, the Director General of Passports, shared that Pakistan has recently started using brand-new, AI-powered printing machines. These modern machines can print up to 300 passports every hour, helping thousands of people get their passports on time.

Six of these high-speed machines were brought in this March and have now been fully connected with NADRA’s national database. This means passport data will be checked and processed faster, cutting down on delays and long waiting times at passport offices. Kazi said this step is part of a bigger plan to modernize Pakistan’s passport services and give people a better experience when they apply.

In another important change, Pakistan’s new passports will now include the mother’s name along with the father’s. This small but meaningful addition will help make identification clearer and bring Pakistan’s documents closer to global standards.

At the same time, the government is also cracking down on people involved in illegal activities abroad. Passports of people deported for things like begging or travelling without documents are now being cancelled, and cases are being filed against them to stop misuse of Pakistani passports.

With these new machines and better systems in place, passport delivery in Pakistan is expected to become faster, safer, and more reliable for everyone.
