Good News! Govt Likely to Massively Reduce Petroleum Prices

There are strong signs that fuel prices across Pakistan may drop sharply in the coming days, bringing relief to the public. Industry insiders say a fresh price review has been completed and a proposal for lowering petroleum rates has already been forwarded to the relevant authorities.

According to sources, the revised prices could come into effect from December 16, subject to government approval. The expected reduction is being discussed after reviewing recent cost trends in the oil sector, and officials believe this move could help ease pressure on transport costs and daily expenses.

Petrol prices are expected to see a small cut per litre, while high-speed diesel may witness a much larger decrease. This would be especially helpful for transporters, farmers, and businesses that rely heavily on diesel for operations. Light diesel oil is also likely to become cheaper, offering further relief to commercial users.

In addition, kerosene oil prices may be reduced noticeably which could benefit households in colder regions where it is still used for heating and cooking. If approved, the overall reduction in petroleum prices could reach nearly Rs. 12 per litre across different fuel categories.

Final approval for the new rates will be given by the federal government after reviewing the summary sent by the oil sector. Once approved, the revised prices will be officially announced and implemented nationwide.

If the decision goes ahead as expected, it could provide timely financial relief and help control rising living costs for consumers across the country.
