Google is making an official change to the way things operate by banning third-party cookies in its web browser, similar to what Safari and Firefox have already done.
One of them is FLOC (Federated Learning of Cohorts), a new framework that allow to make its users semi-anonymous by associating them with a “cohort,” which is a community of users big enough to make the users invisible to the companies that are targeting them, as per Google.
The Chrome browser will use a set of algorithms that are based on the qualities and desires of the users to build these cohorts.
However, the company adds that each user’s browser history will be kept private and will not be shared with other users, though the browser can use the history to allocate these cohorts.
