Government of KP Opposes Ban on TikTok in Pakistan

According to sources, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) opposed a ban on TikTok, a popular short-video sharing app.

KP IT Minister Zia Bangash said at a press conference in Islamabad that the decision to ban TikTok in Pakistan was not “correct.” The prohibition of social media apps in the country harms the country’s international image.

Bangash insisted, “In my view, the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) decision to ban TikTok is incorrect.” “In this situation, we plan to file a review petition.”

The minister made it clear that they are not against TikTok as a short-video sharing app, but rather against those who use it to spread disgrace.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) had directed the appropriate authorities to enforce a ban on TikTok earlier this month.
