Lawyers around the country have received Sehat Cards from the federal government, which is governed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Today, a delegation led by the president of the High Court Bar Association Rawalpindi met with Adviser to Prime Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan.
During the meeting, Babar Awan stated that each lawyer, as well as their family members, will be eligible for medical care of up to Rs1 million.
He went on to say that the health insurance service was not even offered to European and American citizens (US).
The issuance of Sehat Cards, according to Awan, is one of the PTI government’s significant efforts toward making Pakistan a welfare state.
He stated that it is the role of the government to look after lawyers. He claimed that the High Court Bar Association Rawalpindi was the first to issue Sehat Cards to lawyers.
