The Government of Pakistan has recently announced that there will be a rise in the fees for Machine Readable Passports (MRPs), starting from March 7, 2024. This means that anyone applying for a passport on or after this date will need to pay the new, increased fee.
The Directorate General of Immigration & Passports (DGI&P) has clarified that if someone had already deposited the old passport fee before March 7, 2024, but their passport application is submitted on or after this date, they will need to pay the difference in fees. Only when the full, enhanced fee is realized will the passport application be processed.
Here are the updated passport fees:
These changes are important for anyone planning to apply for a passport, as they need to be aware of the new fees to avoid any delays in their application process.
