The briefing was held at the Prime minister’s house for Imran khan to present and demonstrate the new locally-made EVM.
After briefing PM Imran khan, the Federal Minister for science and technology, Shibli Faraz, said that the EVM does not have an operating system and works without the internet. Therefore, it cannot be hacked or bugged-eliminating the chances of votes being rigged. It is developed according to the realities of elections and specifications set by the ECP, which initially rejected EVM.
In case of a dispute, the machine will provide a complete audit of the polled votes, eliminating the chances of an issue.
