The federal cabinet meeting agreed to buy 100 vehicles fitted with an Islamabad surveillance digital system. Federal Home Secretary Sheikh Rasheed told the meeting that so far, 30 out of 33 security inspection posts have been withdrawn from the federal capital.
“After the arrival of 100 digitally equipped vehicles, the remaining three checkpoints will be removed,” the minister told the meeting.
In Islamabad, the federal cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The meeting addressed the country’s overall political, economic and COVID condition.
The meeting also addressed the forthcoming Senate elections and empty seats in the National Assembly. In this respect, the deployment of security forces to polling stations in the NA-221 Tharparkar constituency was authorized by the federal cabinet members.
