The government plans to launch a new generation train structure in Pakistan in order to boost the tourism sector, especially in the northern areas.
In a tweet on Saturday, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said, “We are striving for investor to join hands with us to create new generation train structure from Islamabad to Murree.”
The minister was responding to a Twitter user who called for modern trains similar to those seen in Europe and the developed world to enable people to experience the scenic beauty of the country’s northern areas.
Meanwhile, the minister reported that the project would cost about 300 million euros, which is approximately PKR 57 billion. He said, “Let’s hope if we can get through that in the first step, then the model can be repeated.”
