Gwadar Port Authority Announces Job Vacancies in Pakistan

The Gwadar Port Authority, under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Government of Pakistan, has announced a job opening for the position of Director General (Operations). This management post is to be filled on a regular basis, offering a significant opportunity for qualified professionals in the maritime sector.

Job Details and Eligibility Criteria

The position of Director General (Operations) is classified under BPS-20, with one post available on a merit basis. The age limit for candidates is set between 37 and 45 years.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a Class-1 (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency or an equivalent service certificate from an institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Required Experience

  • Applicants must have command experience of at least four years, along with seventeen years of experience in port operations or shipping management.

Important Instructions for Applicants

  1. Government Employees: Candidates currently employed in government, semi-government, or autonomous organizations must apply through the proper channels.
  2. Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be considered as per Federal Government rules.
  3. Incomplete Applications: Incomplete CVs or resumes, as well as those received after the due date, will not be entertained.
  4. Selection Process: The selection will be based strictly on merit according to the rules and will be conducted by the Departmental Selection Committee/Board of the Gwadar Port Authority. Candidates attempting to exert influence during the selection process will face immediate disqualification.
  5. Shortlisting and Interviews: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for tests or interviews. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the test or interview.
  6. Final Selection: The final selection is contingent on the following:
  • Medical fitness confirmed by a nominated Chief Medical Officer or Medical Team appointed by the Gwadar Port Authority.
  • Security clearance from relevant Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) or the police.
