The projected special economic district (SED) is expected to accumulate tax-free status under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan.
Under this long term planning, the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has submitted a suggestion to get tax-free legislation for the proposed SED for a time period of 30-35 years.
The notion intends to offer foreign buyers and traders with the same perks and incentives as local businesses in special economic zones within the country.
Abdul Razzaq, a GDA official, said the draught was being promoted to better authorities for further evaluation.
He anticipated that its ratification will create a common ground for the local commercial enterprise sectors to thrive.
