Energy Minister Hammad Azhar announced that the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) will invest Rs111 billion in the electricity transmission infrastructure over the next three years in order to alleviate the country’s power shortages.
The federal minister stated in a tweet that the investment will increase the national grid system’s capabilities to transfer 28,750 and 31,500 megawatts (MW) in the summers of 2023 and 2024, respectively.
“We started with only 20,811 MW in 2018,” he noted.
