On Saturday, PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz was chosen chief minister of Punjab in a raucous session of the Punjab Assembly.
Before the vote, three PTI members of the Punjab Assembly were arrested for assaulting Vice President Dost Mohammad Mazari as the party boycotted the session to elect the new prime minister.
Hamza Shahbaz was elected Prime Minister with 197 votes. At the same time, his rival Pervaiz Elahi received only one vote.
After a long wait and delays due to riots, the session finally began with Mazari presiding.
