It is a well-known fact that sports have the power to change the world. When a game of cricket could bring people together under one roof. Imagine the type of impact we can create as Pakistanis; if we start looking at sports from a holistic point of view. From hailing from a humble background to studying Sports Science & Technology, kudos to people like Haris Ahmed, Arshad Nadeem, Shajar Abbas, and Nooh Butt for going out of the way to revive different sports without any support from the state.
“I am very happy with the way things are turning out for Pakistan in the field of Sports. We played against India, Vietnam, and many other countries and were able to secure the Bronze for Pakistan in 35th King’s World Championship Sepaktakraw, 2022. Due to limited resources, most of our talented players could not make it to the Championship. Otherwise, with the right resources and guidance, we could have won this Championship. People from neighboring countries were not only sponsored by the state, but they were also getting guidance from international coaches. While my team and I were looking for sponsors, our opponents were sharpening their skillset. But, one thing that still amazes me is that we as a nation have the power to change the world. I put up a post in a Facebook group regarding my sponsorship, and I got in touch with ibex. They arranged everything for me overnight. When I lost all hope of going to the championship the next moment, I was flying toward my dream. This shows the kind of impact & emotions we hold as Pakistanis for sports. We just need a little support, and, the next moment, we are world champions.” – Haris Ahmed
Pakistani players are making history with limited resources. It is great to see the private sector and companies like ibex. are working for the empowerment of youth. Sepaktakraw, AKA Kick volleyball is a famous sport around the world. Malaysia, Thailand, and China are currently the top teams of Sepaktakraw on an international level. If we look at our talent and their resilience, Pakistan is not far to take this sport to Asian Games & Commonwealth Games in the future.
