Haris Rauf Silences Match Referee During ICC Hearing on India’s Complaint

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf firmly defended himself during a recent hearing befor ICC following a complaint filed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The case was heard by match referee Richie Richardson, who examined allegations surrounding the conduct of Pakistani players during a recent match.

According to sources, the primary focus of the inquiry regarding Haris Rauf was a hand gesture he made that was interpreted by some as controversial. The pacer was specifically questioned about the meaning of his “0-6” signal during the game.

Instead of accepting the charge, Rauf turned the inquiry around and asked the referee and officials to explain how they themselves interpreted the gesture.

Haris Rauf reportedly said, “Tell me what you believe the gesture means.” His pointed question appeared to leave Richardson without a clear response, as the match referee did not provide an explanation at that moment.

Those present at the hearing noted that Rauf’s stance was confident and direct. He refused to accept any suggestion that his actions carried negative intent, and instead challenged the interpretation being placed on his celebration. By doing so, he emphasized that the meaning attributed to his gesture was a matter of perception rather than fact.

The outcome of the hearing has not yet been made public but Haris Rauf’s firm response and his refusal to accept the accusations suggest that Pakistan will continue to defend its players strongly against the charges.
