Heavy Rain Forecast Issued for Islamabad and Other Parts of the Country

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather warning, forecasting heavy rainfall in many parts of the country. The affected areas include Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan, and Kashmir. This spell of rain is expected to be intense and may lead to serious problems such as flash floods, landslides in hilly regions, and flooding in cities.

Some places like Murree, Galyat, Swat, Mansehra, and Rawalpindi are considered to be at high risk due to their location in mountainous areas. In these regions, there is a strong possibility of landslides and road blockages. Meanwhile, low-lying urban areas such as Lahore, Gujranwala, and Peshawar could experience urban flooding, especially if the drainage systems become overwhelmed.

The heavy rains will also be accompanied by strong winds, which could damage weaker structures. There is a risk of trees being uprooted and damage to electricity poles and solar panels, especially in areas where infrastructure is not strong enough to withstand such weather conditions.

People living in the affected regions are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions. Those planning to travel to or from the northern areas should check weather updates regularly and avoid unnecessary trips during heavy rainfall. Authorities are expected to remain on standby to manage any emergency situations that may arise due to the bad weather.
