Heavy Rains Expected from Tomorrow, Urban Flooding Alert Issued

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain, wind, and thunderstorms for upper and central parts of the country in the coming week. The weather office has also warned that heavy rainfall could cause urban flooding in some cities. Local authorities have been asked to stay alert and take steps to prevent damage.

From August 4 to August 7, heavy rain is likely to hit Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and several areas in Punjab and Islamabad.

The weather system is expected to get stronger on August 5 because of a westerly wave, which could bring even heavier rain. The PMD says that some places may see isolated heavy downpours that could lead to flooding in low-lying areas.

In Balochistan, most areas will remain hot and humid over the next few days. However, some rain is expected in the northeast and southern parts of the province on August 6. Sindh may also get some showers, especially in the lower parts of the province, but most regions there will continue to experience warm and sticky weather.

The PMD has advised people living in flood-prone areas to stay cautious and follow any safety instructions given by local authorities. Officials say that more rain could cause water to collect in cities, leading to traffic jams and other problems.

The government has asked all concerned departments to stay prepared and keep emergency teams ready in case the weather turns severe.
