Former Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Amir recently discussed the possibility of making a comeback to the national team.During a media interaction, Amir confirmed his retirement and expressed his belief that it is now the time for younger players to shine in the sport.
“I have retired, so how can I be hopeful for a return? If I hadn’t retired, I could have been hopeful, but now that I have retired, I have grown older, and there are young players in the team,” Amir stated.
Amir’s decision to retire in 2020 surprised many cricket fans worldwide. At the age of 28, he chose to step away from the game that had brought him both fame and controversy.
During that same year, he openly criticized the then Pakistan team management, specifically head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis, attributing them to the circumstances that led to his retirement.
