“I Think Babar Will Score Three or Four Centuries for Pakistan in this World Cup”: Gautham Gambhir

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, is currently the top batsman in the ICC ODI rankings. Many experts think he will do really well in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, happening in India from October 5th.

One former Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambir, made a bold prediction. He said Babar might score “three or four centuries” in the World Cup. He praised Babar’s skills and said it would be tough for other bowlers to stop him.

Other experts, like former South African bowler Dale Steyn, also believe Babar will shine at the World Cup. Steyn thinks Babar could end up as the tournament’s top run-scorer.

Babar showed good form in the World Cup warm-up matches, scoring 80 runs against New Zealand. Unfortunately, Pakistan lost that match by five wickets.

In the 2019 ODI World Cup, Babar scored 474 runs in eight matches with an average of 67.71 and a strike rate of 87.77. He got three fifties and one century, with his highest score of 101 against New Zealand.

Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 journey starts against the Netherlands on October 6th in Hyderabad.
