Illegal Lion Found in Car in Rawalpindi

The Punjab Wildlife Department recently took action by seizing a lion that was found inside a parked vehicle near Chak Beli Road in Rawalpindi. The animal’s owner, Fakhar Abbas, could not show a valid wildlife license when asked by the officials.

Reports say the lion was being transported for a circus show. After the department stepped in, the lion was safely moved to a secure location where it will be looked after properly. The owner was fined Rs60,000 for keeping a wild and dangerous animal without legal permission.

Officials reminded everyone that owning wild animals like lions without a proper license is strictly banned in Punjab. They warned that strong steps will be taken against anyone who breaks these laws, as such animals can be dangerous not just for the owners but for the public too.

This action is part of a bigger operation that started after a recent lion attack in Lahore shocked many people.

Since then, the wildlife department has increased inspections and crackdowns across the province to make sure no one keeps wild animals illegally. So far, 18 lions have been taken into custody from different places where they were being kept without the required permits.

The department has asked the public to follow the rules and not keep wild animals at home or in private places without permission. They also appealed to people to report any illegal keeping of wildlife to help protect both the animals and the community.
