Ishaq Dar, Minister of Finance, had a formal meeting with IMF officials at a high level. She expressed concurrence with Pakistan will then be submitted to the IMF board for endorsement.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Middle East Director Jihad Azour made the announcement on Wednesday that the international lender will soon sign a Staff Level Agreement (SLA) with Pakistan, which is significant for the cash-strapped nation.
The director of the IMF stated that Pakistan’s progress on reforms and timely completion of the IMF program are hoped for.
Ishaq Dar participated via video link in the annual meeting of the IMF and World Bank, where IMF Director for the Middle East Jihad Azour was in charge of the meeting.
