Former Pakistani cricketer Imran Farhat has been named as the national team’s batting coach for the upcoming two-match home Test series against South Africa. The series will begin on October 12 at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium, marking an exciting new chapter for Pakistan cricket.
Farhat, known for his solid technique and experience at the international level, will work closely with the squad to strengthen their red-ball batting performance. His appointment comes as Pakistan prepares to kick off its ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 campaign.
The coaching lineup also includes Azhar Mehmood as the head coach for the red-ball format, Abdul Rehman as the spin coach, and Abdul Majeed handling fielding duties. Together, the team aims to build a balanced and competitive unit for the home series.

After the Test matches, South Africa and Pakistan will also face off in three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals across Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Faisalabad.
The series is expected to offer plenty of thrilling cricket moments while testing Pakistan’s depth and consistency across all formats.
