Recently, PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan’s IT exports are not upto the level and instructed the associated authorities to step forward practically in order to enhance country’s OT exports from $2.6 billion to $15 billion within next 3 years.
“Pakistan has a huge potential in the IT sector, which needs to be exploited. The IT industry stands alongside the government to improve the national economy,” stated PM Shehbaz.
Headed a meeting to discuss the promotion of the IT domain, PM stated, “the number of IT professionals need to be increased from 0.6 million to 1.5 million.”
He instructed the Higher Education Commission, universities and training institutes to work on it, and better the educational curriculum according to the market needs.
Shehbaz Sharif also directed to create a standing committee in order to deliberate the gaps between the government and the IT industry and solve the issues faced by the IT sector.
The committee would contain the representatives from IT industry, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), finance ministry, IT ministry and other relevant departments.
