India is set to make a significant amount of money as the sole host of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023. It’s expected to earn over Rs660 billion in Pakistani currency, which is equivalent to $2.6 billion.
This hosting opportunity in India, with 48 matches across ten cities, is predicted to bring in substantial revenue from TV broadcasting rights, ticket sales, food delivery, sponsorships, higher advertising rates, foreign tourism, and merchandise sales.
However, there are concerns about how this revenue is distributed. The current financial model of the ICC for 2017 to 2023 favors India, giving them a large share of the total income, while other cricketing nations receive comparatively smaller portions.
