Indian Bowler Comes in Support for Usman Tariq’s Bowling Action, Calls it Legal!

Pakistan’s mystery spinner Usman Tariq has received support from former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin after new concerns were raised about his bowling action.

Tariq played an important role in Pakistan’s 32-run victory over the USA, taking 3 wickets for 27 runs. His performance helped Pakistan control the match and secure a comfortable win.

However, despite his strong display, some critics questioned his bowling action. They pointed out that he briefly pauses during his run-up before delivering the ball, suggesting it may not look smooth or natural.

Ravichandran Ashwin came forward to defend Tariq. He said that bowlers are often judged more strictly than batters, even though both sides try different techniques to gain an advantage.

Ashwin explained that unusual actions or styles do not automatically mean a bowler is breaking the rules. He stressed that a bowling action can only be officially declared illegal after proper testing at an ICC-approved testing centre.

Ashwin also referred to the ICC’s 15-degree rule, which allows a certain level of elbow bending during delivery.

According to the rules, if a bowler’s arm extension stays within this limit, the action is considered legal. He emphasized that judgments should be based on scientific testing, not public opinion or social media debates.

The discussion has once again highlighted how closely bowling actions are monitored in modern cricket. For now, Tariq continues to focus on his performance, while experts remind fans that only official testing can decide the legality of a player’s action.
