Indian defence analyst Pravin Sawhney has questioned recent claims made by the Indian Air Force Chief about “Operation Sindoor.” The Air Force Chief had stated that Indian forces shot down five Pakistani fighter jets, a large aircraft, and possibly damaged F-16s while they were on the ground.
Speaking to journalist Karan Thapar in an interview for The Wire, Sawhney said these claims do not hold up to careful examination and contain “too many gaps” to be taken at face value. He stressed that such serious statements should be backed by solid evidence and urged the authorities to provide proof.
Sawhney also suggested that the remarks may have been influenced by a last-minute directive from a higher authority, though he chose not to identify anyone by name. He emphasized that without clear evidence, such allegations raise more questions than answers.
