Indian Opener KL Rahul Ruled Out of Highly-Anticipated Asia Cup Match Against Pakistan

Wicketkeeper-batsman K.L. Rahul won’t be playing in India’s first two matches of the Asia Cup due to an injury, which was confirmed by coach Rahul Dravid on Tuesday.

India’s first match in the tournament is on September 2 against Pakistan, which is a very important game. After that, they will play against Nepal two days later.

The Asia Cup, starting on Wednesday, is a big chance for teams from the region to understand each other’s strengths and tactics before the upcoming World Cup in India, which starts in October.

Rahul, who is 31 years old, got injured during the Indian Premier League (IPL) in April and May and hasn’t played since then. This new injury is different from his previous thigh injury and not related to it. They will check his condition again on September 4, right before the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup starts.

Rahul is getting better from his injury, which is good news. But he won’t be able to play at the beginning of the Asia Cup, especially during the part of the tournament in Kandy. While Rahul is not playing, Ishan Kishan is expected to be the wicketkeeper, as per reports in the Indian media.
