Indian Pilgrims Find ‘Warm Welcome’ in Pakistan Despite Tensions

Indian pilgrims who travelled to Nankana Sahib for Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary shared that they were warmly welcomed in Pakistan, even though relations between the two countries have recently been tense.

This year, more than 40,000 devotees gathered at the holy site, filling the surroundings with hymns, flowers, and a deep sense of spirituality.

Pilgrims from India said they felt completely safe, respected, and comfortable during their visit. Many of them mentioned that the celebrations in Pakistan felt just as lively and heartfelt as the ones they attend back home.

People from different communities in Pakistan also joined the event, creating an environment of harmony and mutual respect. This peaceful atmosphere stood in contrast to the political tensions that often make headlines.

There were many emotional scenes throughout the gathering. Some families, who had been separated since the partition, reunited after decades, making the occasion even more meaningful.

Pilgrims also spoke highly of the hospitality they received from the smiles of locals to the generous servings at the communal kitchen, where everyone was invited to sit and share a meal regardless of background.

Visitors said the unity they witnessed during the celebrations was a powerful reminder that faith can bring people together. They appreciated how smoothly the arrangements were made and how everyone worked to ensure a peaceful and uplifting experience.

In the end, the pilgrims carried one message they hoped both nations would hear clearly: peace, understanding, and brotherhood should guide the future. They believed that such events show how people-to-people connections can help build bridges, even when governments struggle to do the same.
