India’s cricket team management has reportedly told players not to interact with Pakistani net bowlers during practice sessions at the ICC Academy.
Sources confirmed this new rule, which comes soon after the recent handshake controversy during the Asia Cup 2025 clash between Pakistan and India.
The controversy began when players from both sides skipped the traditional handshake after the match, a move that attracted wide criticism and was seen as against the spirit of sportsmanship.
Although Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav did shake hands with Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi during the trophy presentation, the overall incident continued to raise questions.
Now, team management has taken things further by placing restrictions during training. Pakistani net bowlers, who usually assist teams during practice sessions, are not allowed to casually interact with Indian players.
To make sure the rule is followed strictly, the net bowlers must hand over their mobile phones before practice begins. This step, according to sources, is part of a tighter control over communication and interactions on the field.
