Internet Speed Restored after Completion of Undersea Cable Repair: PTCL

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced the complete restoration of internet services across the country after repairs were successfully carried out on a damaged undersea cable.

The disruption had caused slower connectivity for users, particularly in Islamabad and upper Punjab, over the past few days. PTCL confirmed that a faulty repeater in one of its submarine cables was the main cause of the slowdown.

According to the company, the repair operation was completed on October 15, following maintenance work that began on October 14. The task was handled by an international cable consortium that oversees Pakistan’s global communication network.

With the issue resolved, PTCL stated that normal internet speeds and stability have been fully restored nationwide, ensuring smooth browsing, streaming, and communication services for both individuals and businesses.

PTCL currently operates three of Pakistan’s six submarine cable systems, serving as a vital link between the country and the rest of the world.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high-quality internet infrastructure and assured customers that it continues to invest in network reliability and redundancy to prevent future disruptions.

For millions of users who rely on a stable internet for work, education, and daily communication, this restoration brings much-needed relief and a return to normal online activity.
