Iranian President Pezeshkian to Arrive in Pakistan Today

Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian is visiting Pakistan today for a two-day official trip, his first since he became president. His visit comes at a time when tensions are high in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is hosting the Iranian leader. During his stay, Dr. Pezeshkian will hold talks with Pakistani officials and lead a meeting with their delegations. He is also expected to pay tribute at the Iqbal Mausoleum in Lahore, which is an important symbol for the people of Pakistan.

The Foreign Office hopes that this visit will help Pakistan and Iran build a stronger relationship. It also pointed out that Pakistan is ready to support peaceful dialogue and work for stability in the region.

Officials stressed that while Pakistan wants closer ties with Iran, its strong friendship with China remains unchanged. They said Pakistan will continue to play its role in promoting peace and cooperation with all neighboring countries.

So far, no official announcements have been made about any new trade or energy deals between Pakistan and Iran during this trip. However, experts believe that the leaders may discuss future possibilities for cooperation in these areas.

Besides meeting the Prime Minister, President Pezeshkian will also meet Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and other senior government officials during his visit.

This visit is seen as an important step towards improving connections between the two neighboring countries, who share a long border and cultural ties. Many are watching closely to see what new agreements or understandings might come out of these high-level meetings.
