Ir@n Claims It Shot Down Two US W@rplanes, Including F-18

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials have claimed that their forces shot down two United States warplanes, including an F/A-18 Hornet, allegedly within Iran’s airspace. The claim has surfaced amid rising tensions in the region, though independent verification of the incident remains limited.

According to reports circulating in Russian media outlets, purported footage of the incident has also emerged, further fueling speculation around the development. Earlier accounts suggested that an F-35 Lightning II may have been targeted as well, while some US-based media sources have hinted at the possibility of multiple aircraft losses in recent confrontations, though no official confirmation has been provided by Washington.

In a further escalation of rhetoric, Iranian authorities warned that continued hostilities could potentially expand the conflict to new strategic areas, including near the Bab al-Mandab Strait—a critical maritime route for global trade and energy shipments. Tehran has also dismissed recent proposals from the United States regarding a ceasefire, emphasizing that any de-escalation would only occur under its own conditions.
