The Irrigation Department of the Government of Sindh has announced exciting job vacancies for the position of Project Director for the “Water Requirement For K-IV Project Improvement of Kalri Baghar Feeder & Keenjhar Lake-Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) Lining of Kalri Baghar Feeder Upper Phase-I Project.” This initiative comes after the Planning Commission of Pakistan approved the project, highlighting its importance for water management in the region.
Job Responsibilities
The selected Project Director will play a crucial role in providing efficient leadership and continuous support to ensure the successful implementation of the project. They will be responsible for adhering to the guidelines set by the Government and will report directly to the Secretary of Irrigation, Government of Sindh.
Qualifications and Experience
To apply for this important position, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s degree in Irrigation & Hydraulics, Water Resources Planning & Management, or a degree in Project Management.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in project management and execution of large water, irrigation, or hydraulic projects, with at least 5 years in a senior-level position.
- Additional Skills: Strong financial, technical, procurement, and management skills, along with excellent communication skills in both English and Urdu. Proficiency in information technology is also essential.
Employment Conditions
The selected candidate will be offered a salary package, perks, and privileges as per the existing policy of the Government of Sindh. The initial contract period will be for two years, extendable based on satisfactory performance until project completion. Candidates must have a domicile or Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Sindh Province and should be no older than 63 years by the application closing date.
